On the Trail

Citizen Kate asks her second debate question for the Republican CNN/YouTube debate about controlling imports from China and encouraging manufacturing in the United States.

I read recently that some toys massed produced in China have harmed children. Of course, the children ate the toy when they shouldn’t have. But still with all these issues around China meeting environmental and safety standards. Shouldn’t we consider producing more products in the USA? Seriously. We have higher environmental standards and people need jobs here.

We need a president who will encourage more manufacturing here in the United States and control the importation of dangerous goods. It shouldn’t always be about the “bottom line.” Any modern girl likes a good shoe sale. But safety should really come first. Especially when it’s the safety of our future -- children.

Note to self: Look for products Made in the USA.
